Around 1904, he learned to play the violin with the painter Maurice de Vlaminick (1876-1958). Self-taught painter, he had a long friendship with Vlaminick with whom he met, at the Jonchère house in Rueil-Malmaison, the painters Pablo. Picasso, Moise Kisling and the writer Gustave Coquiot. Clochard began at the Salon des Indépendants in 1926, and the same year fell out with Vlaminick, to whom the critics compared him unfavorably. It was revealed to the public in Chartres with the exhibition of the Provinces of France in 1942. Prisoner during the First World War, he remained in captivity until 1918. This still life represents a bouquet of flowers, roses, poppies, daisies in a vase on a blue and green background, the colors have remained fresh, we note cracks from friction, stains (visible on the photos). We also note a lack of material especially on the right side in on the green background, however the artwork remains in fair condition. The oil and to be reattached in its frame. The frame is gilded, in its juice we report friction and small gaps. Sold uncleaned unrestored nature. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom.
