Wooden stool or wooden coffee table 40 cm high and 45 cm wide, white color.



These beauties are known as Bamileke stools and come from Cameroon and is an iconic piece of furniture from Africa.



They are also called African stools, king's stools, or bird nests and were traditionally used by the Bamileke tribe for public ceremonies.



Today they are also used for interior decoration and I sell them at both wholesale and retail prices.



I cut them by hand from a continuous piece of wood.



To do this, the lumber would first be thrown into the river to soften it, and then the ornate web pattern would be hand carved into the hardwood.



Any break in the wood would mean that the part has been abandoned or this break is considered a break in the life cycle and therefore a bad omen.



The intricate pattern you see in these represents the earth spider web, a symbol of divine wisdom.
