WATERCOLOR ON PAPER BY JOLIFIE CONIN LOCOMOTIVE TRAIN SCENE XXEME A4111 This watercolor on paper was done by Jolifie Conin, it is a twentieth work probably from the 60s Jolifie Conin was born in Paris in 1929, from an Auvergne family he is died in 2013. He studied art at the Académie de la Section d'Or with Jean Souverbie from 1947 to 1949 and spent two years at the Paul Colin school, famous painter and poster artist from 1955 to 1957. He painted in watercolor and oil nudes, still lifes, compositions with characters and especially landscapes from the regions where he lived or stayed: Paris, the Chevreuse valley, the island of Yeu, the Cantal and the Tarn. He also uses pastel and drypoint. 1956 Silver medal from the city of Paris. 1960 Gold medal from the city of Taverny. 1966 Silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Français. 1982 First prize in the magazine "La vie du rail" for its "Limoges station" at the 36th Scheffer Prize show. 1992 Gold medal from the city of Cholet (painting). 1993 Medal of the Society of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Cholet. 2005 One of Jolifie Conin's paintings "the Saint Felix canal in Nantes" was chosen by CFM international (General Electric) to illustrate the month of June on its 2005 calendar. Twelve painters from different countries illustrated this calendar. CFM International manufactures jet aircraft engines and will send its schedule to all airlines around the world. The watercolor has remained fresh, it represents a train scene, we see a locomotive entering the station with characters, the station is probably identifiable. It is in good condition, some traces on the pass, friction and chips on the frame. Sold uncleaned. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom.
