Nice technique, note that the paper is damaged in several places. There are stains, it has no glass.Golden frame also bearing traces and rubbing.For the state thank you for detailing the photos.André Dignimont is a painter, illustrator, caricaturist, theater decorator, engraver and French lithographer born in Paris in 1891. He has also appeared in several films, notably in Donne-moi tes pieds, where he performs his own role under the direction of Sacha Guitry. André Dignimont has devoted himself solely to works on paper, disdaining, with rare exceptions, painting on canvas.He began his career as a draftsman and caricaturist in satirical newspapers such as La rire, Le Souris, etc.He was quickly recognized for his sense of setting up, and for a style that is both elliptical and evocative. Member of the Salon d'Automne, he also exhibits at the Salon des Tuileries, as well as at the Salon de l'Araignée. He renewed the art of illustration, by the use of vaporous colors highlighted by a skilful use of the white of the paper, its evocation of the people of the milieu, and of prostitution which he treats without complacency but with poetry. is particularly appreciated. Well known in literary circles, he was chosen as illustrator by Colette (Mitsou, the Ingénue libertine) and by Galtier-Boissière (The good life). He died in Paris in 1965.
