Rosewood statuette, from the 60s-70s, brought back as a family souvenir, from Central Africa, in very good condition. It was hand carved and details prove it like the eyes and ears which are different. It is heavy, with its original patina, sober and very nice. Notice the holes on the head and it would even be possible to use them for incense sticks.
This person is kneeling, as a sign of deference, submission, or reverence. It has a meaning in African chieftaincy.
