Superb mounted gunner saber Mle 1829 from the Manufacture Nationale de Klingenthal.1839. This model of saber was in use in mounted gunner units and in the Artillery Train of both the Imperial and Line Guards. Superb numbered saber. Natural and historical property of all the campaigns of the Second Empire: Crimea 1854, Italy 1859, China 1860, Mexico 1862/1867 and Franco-Prussian War 1870/1871.

Very rare, superb and massive gunner's saber model 1829, officer version with decorations on the hilt for officers. The handle is made of brass and wood, no watermark, but very solid, remains of markings on the edge ''Manufacture de Klingenthal''. The blade is in good condition, still shiny, in its juice with traces due to time on a gutter. Solid iron scabbard with two rings, stamped ''14'' in good condition. Missing the small part on the top of the handle, probably with a rooster or imperial eagle, award style. A superb and massive saber, in its original state, very pleasant to hold in the hands. A piece that looks great in the window, very pleasing to the eye, absolutely necessary for any discerning collector! Beautiful piece in its original juice to clean!
