The name Briquet Saber is a nickname used for a French saber, used in the infantry, and available in several models. The origin of this name comes from the grenadier's model 1767 saber, to which the blade was shortened, then came the models 1790, AN IX, AN XI, and derivatives (briquets of the guard, elite companies, etc.).

Description:



Superb Belgian or French lighter saber. Fluted bronze handle, one rivet on each side, ''GA'' markings, no play. The blade is in its original condition, it has its original brown leather tie. Black stitched leather scabbard, very sturdy, the chape was probably replaced at the time with its very RARE WHITE BAUDRIER. A magnificent and very rare piece, perfectly homogeneous in superb condition to be seized absolutely!
