"the a56 armchair by tolix is today an iconic seat of industrial design. Its structure is based on the a model on which a backrest with arms has been added. The tubular arms arranged in a recess extend to form the structure of the low backrest. We find the four-legged base in sheet metal cut, stamped and then welded to the center of the four sides of the belt. Their tapered shape is arranged in a slight oblique with a tubular lower end. The X-shaped crosspiece under the seat reinforces the structure and allows the armchairs to be better stacked. The a56 armchair takes its name from its creation date in 1956. It was designed by jean pauchard, the son of the founder of tolix, xavier pauchard. The 2019 version has a wider seat.".
