The Bavarian army was the army of the duchy, then of the kingdom of Bavaria. It was integrated into the German army (Deutsches Heer) after 1870. It kept its own unit names until the First World War.

Magnificent Bavarian officer's saber in beautiful condition, in its original condition. Wooden handle covered in black leather. Beautiful blade, in its juice, still shiny, a few traces in places, with two gutters, engraved on both sides with the Bavarian motto ''IN TREUE FEST'' ("My unwavering loyalty" in French), in its juice, sharpened and still shiny, presence of ''A TREE AND FLORAL DECORATIONS'', same engravings on both sides of the blade. One-ring scabbard covered with black paint, also in its juice, the small screws are still in place. Very beautiful and rare piece, very pleasant to hold in the hands and even more pleasant to admire in the window! A simply magnificent and unusual saber!
