Victoria married her cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 1840. Her reign of 63 years and seven months was the second longest in British history after that of Elizabeth II. The handle is very solid with a superbly decorated guard, we find the presence of the coat of arms of the British Empire ''GOD IS MY RIGHT'' as well as the manufacturer's mark ''TO THE QUEEN HAWKES & C° PICCADILY LONDON'' . The blade is in superb condition and has numerous engravings: '' coat of arms + crown of the British Empire, reliefs with monogram '' as well as the manufacturer's marking '' PROVED T ". The scabbard is made of iron with two rings, in its juice. RAY skin handle (a little gone) with the filigram still present! The saber fits perfectly into its sheath. This is a magnificent original English saber in good condition, very unusual. Superb piece, very pleasant to hold in the hands and even more pleasant to observe in the window, 100% original guaranteed!
