ROGER CAPRON VALAURIS COFFEE TABLE FOUGERE MODEL WOOD SUPPORT L1260Here is one of Roger Capron's famous tables, the so-called "Fougère" model. There is a color composition that is not austere. The composition of the wood is interesting. Roger Capron, born in 1922 and died in 2006, is a French ceramist. On February 6, 1946, he moved to Vallauris, where he created a ceramics workshop. In 1952, Capron bought a disused pottery in Vallauris. From 1955, he began the production of earthenware tiles and tables. His creations are recognized and rewarded: gold medal at the X Triennale in Milan in 1954, silver medal at the international exhibition in Cannes in 1955, gold medal in Brussels in 1959. From 1962 begins a collaboration between Capron and Jean-Michel Carré. They exhibited side by side at Bâtimat in 1963. Capron received the international grand prize for ceramics in 1970. Around 1990, Roger Capron tackled a totally new work with unique pieces, close to sculpture. In the 2000s, Capron devoted himself to sculpture in the round, always in collaboration with his wife and with Jean-Paul Bonnet. He exhibited in the Brocéliande and Neotu galleries in Paris, Hammer and Guéridon in New York, Züblin-Haus in Stuttgart, Schachen and Horizon in Switzerland, etc. We report rubbing and scratches on the wood of the legs and the edge, micro-scratches on the ceramic with a lack on a decoration, despite these small defects this coffee table remains presentable. Please note our furniture is sold unrestored, unprepared, defects due to age must be accepted. However, we will not deliver by post for this type of item that is too fragile, but we work with carriers, please contact us for a quote. For the state thank you for detailing the photos.
