Engraving by René Pinard numbered 99/180 view of Quai Baco in Nantes countersigned 1929 L5734 This engraving represents Nantes, it was produced by René Pinard, it is countersigned in wooden pencil and numbered 99/180. It has a natural wooden frame and protective glass. Everything is quality. We note small stains in the margin and on the engraving, however this engraving remains in largely acceptable general condition. René Pinard (1883-1938) is a French painter and engraver. He was appointed Marine Painter in 1921. Obviously, as a marine painter, most of his work has the theme of the sea, the navy and sailors. Moreover, more often boats than the sea itself. During his 35-year career as a painter, he produced a number of beautiful works: engravings, drawings, watercolors, characterized by a systematic use of powerful black.
