The Risorgimento (Italian word meaning "resurgence" or "rebirth" from the verb risorgere "to resurface", or in French "resurrection" or better "resurgence", in a real and figurative sense), or Italian unification, is the period in the history of Italy in the second half of the 19th century at the end of which the kings of the House of Savoy unified most of the Italian geographical region by annexing the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, the Duchy of Modena and Reggio, the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the Duchy of Parma and the Papal States to the Kingdom of Sardinia.

The blade is quite clean, some traces due to time, especially towards the end, without gravity. It has a manufacturer's marking that is difficult to read: ''...F. BIANCHI AR... LL P ...MEZZANI...'' and '' MA '' on the scabbard chape and the handle. The sabre includes its leather baldric and sword holder (very rare). A magnificent piece, rare, original and complete, to seize absolutely!
