The Bavarian gendarmerie was founded in 1812 within the Kingdom of Bavaria and continued its existence until 1918.

Description:
Magnificent and very rare short saber of the Bavarian gendarmerie. Short model with straight blade and leather scabbard resembling the non-commissioned officer model which had a slightly curved blade (photo No. 11). Wooden handle covered with black leather. Blade in good condition with traces of time to clean, marked by the manufacturer: '' Knight's head of Solingen (?) '' on the heel and engraved on both sides: '' IN TREUE FEST ''. Leather scabbard with white metal fittings with its very rare leather baldric. Very beautiful and rare piece, very pleasant to hold in the hand and even more to admire in the display case! Increasingly rare on the sales sites highly sought after by collectors, 100% original!
