Historical context:
Superb German sabre called '' à la Blucher ''. In force in the Prussian cavalry and infantry. Based on the 1811 model, which was used from the Napoleonic wars (notably at Waterloo) until the middle of the 20th century. This sabre was largely inspired by the English model called '' Modèle 1796 '', with the typical shape of the guard and the curved blade, which is said to have wreaked havoc in the French army.

Sublime lamé engraved on both sides: '' H.W. BLOMJOUS, DEN HAAG / YZERHOUWER ''. The handle is made of lacquered wood with a double filigree. The scabbard is made of steel with a bright steel hanging ring. Superb piece, very pleasant to hold in your hands and even more to observe in a display case, 100% original guaranteed!
