HISTORICAL CONTEXT:
The Kingdom of Prussia (German: Königreich Preußen), is a former European state formed in 1701 and integrated in 1871 into the German Empire, of which it is the main component; it disappears in 1918 when Germany becomes a republic.

The Kingdom of Prussia becomes a state of European rank under the reign of Frederick II (1740 – 1786), then plays an essential role from 1792 to 1815 as an adversary of France (wars of the Revolution and the Empire), from 1815 to 1866 as an adversary of Austria (unification of Germany excluding Austria), and in 1870-71 again as an adversary of France (Franco-Prussian War).

Very rare Prussian cavalry saber in its original condition, model 1811. The handle has probably been cleaned and restored. Very beautiful black leather handle with grooves. Curved blade with a central fuller, good condition. In its original condition, to be cleaned. Blade marked on the back of the blade: '' 136 w 74 '' + regimental markings on the scabbard, the guard '' 10F 5 36... ''. Two-ring scabbard with its original leather fasteners. Traces of old brass welding on the guard, probably from the period. Very pleasant to hold in your hands and even more so to observe in a display case A rare piece in its original condition, to be cleaned, for any informed collector!
