The Longchamp earthenware factory was bought in 1868 by the brothers Marcel and Robert Charbonnier from Mr. Phal-Blando who then operated a tile factory and a small earthenware factory.
From 1878, the Charbonnier brothers focused on the production, modern at the time, of fine, white ceramics known as "iron earth" or "opaque porcelain" developed at the end of the 18th century in England.
Longchamp earthenware from the Robert Charbonnier period has a unique characteristic, that of having for each model a stamp which is a work of art in itself, always very elaborate, very specific and unique. Longchamp RC Diane Model
