Superb German sabre called '' à la Blucher ''. In force in the Prussian cavalry and infantry. Based on the 1811 model, which was used from the Napoleonic wars (notably at Waterloo) until the middle of the 20th century. This sabre was largely inspired by the English model called '' Modèle 1796 '', with the typical shape of the guard and the curved blade, which is said to have wreaked havoc in the French army.

Blade with central fuller, entirely etched on both sides (armor, helmets, weapons ...) with traces due to time, leather scabbard in beautiful condition with two rings (very rare because older). Handle with chrome plating, filigree and shagreen / ray skin. Marking on the heel: '' 2 SQUIRRELS BY CARL EICKHORN FROM SOLINGEN '' Pure 19th century piece !!! Very rare and 100% original! Prussian gendarmes' sabers are very rare on the site, especially in this more than exceptional condition.
