HISTORICAL CONTEXT :



The Bavarian army was the army of the duchy, then of the kingdom of Bavaria. It was integrated into the German army (Deutsches Heer) after 1870. It kept its own unit names until the First World War.

Magnificent Bavarian officer's saber in good condition, in its original condition. Wooden handle covered with shagreen, slightly undone filigree. Very beautiful blade, still shiny, with two grooves, engraved on both sides in its juice, still shiny, to be cleaned. Monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm on the blade: ''W''. Two-ring sheath in its original condition also with the original strap + chain. Very beautiful and rare piece, very pleasant to hold in the hand and even more to admire in its collector's window! A saber in its juice in very good condition to be seized!
