HORNBY RACER II MECCANO 1935 1940 JOJO BX XIX D ORIGINAL M782 RACING BOAT This racing boat appears in the 1935-1940 catalog, it is the Hornby Racer II model with beige and blue colors. We sell it with its original box and instructions, for amateurs and collectors. Note a JOJO BX XIX inscription under the hull, we have not been able to identify it, we remain attentive for any information. Like airplanes and cars, canoes appeared in 1931. At first, only one model was available: "The new Hornby racing canoe"; it measures 42 x 9 cm: it is presented in three versions: light green/cream, red/cream and blue/white. Note that this is a "Hornby" product, not a "Meccano" product; certainly because, unlike airplanes and cars which can be dismantled, canoes are not, which, from this point of view, brings them closer to trains. The canoes have a rudder and a "powerful engine" that allows them to travel 150 m with each winding. As spare parts, you can buy Hornby pennants, and spare motors. In 1935, change of manufacture: the hulls are no longer welded but stamped and crimped the canoes are therefore lighter, and novelties appear: on the one hand the canoe 0, entry level, 23.5 x 7.5 cm, and, on the other hand, the Racer II, on the Pégase hull, and the Racer III on the 42 cm hull, which have a more powerful engine. The canoes are still present in the catalog of 39-40 (dated August 1939), and in the price list of September 1940 but they disappear with the war. For the condition, we report friction, stains and micro-scratches, wear on the paint, especially on the propeller, on the rudder, dirt on the windshield, probably a touch-up of paint on the keel, the inscription RACER II partially erased and the Canot Hornby label also. However it remains in a general state of suitable use. Two keys provided, with instructions and advertising leaflet Rubbing, dirt and small tears on the box. We sell it untested unreviewed. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Max height: 6.5 cm Length: 33.5 cm Width: 6.7 cm I remain at your disposal for any questions.
