The prie-dieu is a liturgical piece of furniture on which one kneels to pray to God. During the second half of the 19th century and until the beginning of the 1st World War, craftsmen and furniture manufacturers offered kneelers for churches. This prie-dieu has an openwork backrest in blackened turned wood, a sculpture of a cross rests on a trilobed motif in reference to the trinity (the father, the son and the holy spirit). The seat is in straw, it rises on a small seat which made it possible to be able to kneel to pray with the hands placed on the upper part of the backrest which is wide and which bears 2 initials in nails.
