Superb planter certainly acting as a Bonzai or Suiban pot, of Japanese origin, made of solid bronze with a golden patina, marked with a beautiful ideogram under the base. (Manufacturer, workshop, city?)
An achievement that can be located towards the end of the Meiji era (1868-1912).
In late 19th and 20th century productions, the feet are very often molded separately from the body of the piece (welded parts, leaving traces).
We find the Asian decor with the flowers and the feet in the shape of a fô dog or fantastic animal.
A simple, flowery decor with thick and often direct lines.
We can easily imagine this magnificent piece embellished with a pretty bonsai that we have raised and cared for for many years... :)
features:
dimensions: 26 x 26 x 23 cm
weight ; 5300 grams
condition: in very good condition with the usual traces of use.
period: late 19th century

circa: 1880
