History The North American AT-6 "Texan" are certainly the most famous planes of all the Algerian War and they were by far the most numerous to be used. But initially, the AT-6 or T-6 "Texan" was only an advanced training aircraft intended for the fighter pilot, which explains its yellow color to us. This recognizable color was chosen to avoid collisions, making the devices more visible. Some later aircraft flew in a natural metal livery. Originally the North American AT-6 Texan was a standard advanced trainer for fighter pilots just before and during WWII. Both in the USA and in Great Britain where they will be designated Harvard.
