This drawing was made by Ferdinand du Puigaudeau, it represents the manor of Kervaudu, the residence of Puigaudeau from 1907 until his death in 1930.Ferdinand du Puigaudeau, or Ferdinand Loyen du Puigaudeau, is a French Post-Impressionist painter born in Nantes on April 4 1864 and died at Le Croisic on September 19, 1930. After a short stay in Venice in 1904, where he produced fifty paintings, he returned to Loire-Atlantique (Batz-sur-Mer), in the grip of serious financial worries. In 1907, he moved to Le Croisic in the manor of Kervaudu, which he rented, and where he gathered his friends the painters Jean-Émile Laboureur, Émile Dezaunay, Ernest de Chamaillard, as well as his cousin, the writer Alphonse de Châteaubriant and the poet José-Maria de Heredia. During 25 years, tirelessly, he will endeavor to paint the same sites, flowers of his garden, marshes and mills of Brière, sunsets on the sea, fields of poppies. The drawing is part of a poem "Kervaudu" written and dedicated to Puigaudeau by Guy de la Morandais in October 1920.This drawing is typical of Puigaudeau's work with this sky and an impressionist side.
