We fell for this duo of portraits painted in oil on canvas and mounted on a frame! These two paintings are signed C. Martin and are dated 1957. They are not framed and show some signs of wear: some gaps in the pattern and in the folds of the canvas. The colors have nevertheless kept all their depth and liveliness. We do not have precise information on the context of their creation, although they could be theater actors in costumes and headdresses from the Ancien Régime (this is only a supposition). One of the frames bears the inscription "COULEURS FINES / CHAMPION Cie / 48, Boulevard Beaumarchais / Roq. 31-37 PARIS XI". The back of the canvas of the second shows a significant trace of humidity (not visible on the front side).
