PAIR OF XIXTH ENGRAVINGS VENUS CROWNED BY BOUCHER AND DEMARTEAU A4283 These are reproductions of XVIIIth century engravings made in the XIXth century. Gilles De Hammer, born in Liège on January 19, 1722 and died in Paris on July 31, 1776, was an engraver from Liège. Boucher 1st painter of the Roy. Entered the Academy in 1731 as a history painter, he became director of the Academy and first painter to the King in 1765. He received numerous commissions from the King and Madame de Pompadour. The marquise entrusts him with the decoration of residences where she receives Louis XV and associates him with the prosperity of the royal factories. They are under glass, unfortunately very damaged, damaged, they are sold as such. We report humidity and discoloration stains, the paper has yellowed.
