PAIR OF ANDIRONS LOVE IN BRONZE MIDDLE XIXTH DOUBLE PATINA PERLAGE DECOR E710Here is an exceptional pair of andirons, in fact it represents two black babies wearing a veil. The babies have a chocolate patina with several shades. The quality of the carving is at the rendezvous, a great finesse in the execution of the bronze. There is a gilt bronze base, the gilding is of high quality. You will notice that the drape is executed with great precision. The rendering of the face and hands is of great finesse. These andirons are large in size, exceptional in size. They weigh a lot. The base is of Louis XVI inspiration with a beadwork decor. These andirons were probably made by a great master bronzier.
