PAIR OF CANDELABRAS EMPIRE PERIOD DOUBLE PATINA 4 LIGHTS ALLEGORY WITH WINGED VICTORIES C3020 This pair of candelabras is very close to a Thomire model. It is impressive by its size, its subject and its decorative aspect.It is a bronze subject, chocolate patina, tending to darken.For the central subject it is the subject titled victory, winged subject, it supports 4 fires. The vase is in cherry red marble.The gilding is sumptuous.The carving is of high quality, the size is impressive.However, you will notice that the bobeches are missing. That the top part holding the lights move slightly and that it is slightly tilted. Note micro stripes, verdigris in the lights. Significant shocks to report on the marble. Some small black marks on the bronze. The top part is held by two screws fixed in the subject's hands. On 3 of the laurels holding the lights there is a small crack / restoration visible on the 10th photo. It remains all the same in a very acceptable condition and of very good quality. However we will not make delivery by post for this type of article for this type of too fragile article but we work with carriers. Pierre-Philippe Thomire, born in Paris on December 6, 1751 and died in the same city on June 9, 1843, is a French sculptor, bronzier, founder, chaser and gilder.One of the most remarkable bronziers of his generation, he is recognized for its production of furnishing bronze under the Ancien Régime. He raised this trade under the Empire to its highest level of quality, while creating in the first years of the nineteenth century, an industrial company whose influence was European.
