Oval dish, in Terre de Fer, from the large porcelain and earthenware deposit, signed E. Bourgeois. Very pretty earthenware, blue in color, with a pattern representing different nature scenes. The large depot, and its branch, were managed by Emile Bourgeois. He bought models to suit his customers' tastes in large (French) earthenware and crystal factories before reselling them in stores. He was the great initiator of this concept (19th century). This stamp was used from 1863 to 1918. Magnificent object, without shine, beautifully patinated with its pretty brown colors. Also note some scratches from use as well as a crack on the edge (see photos). Dimensions: H3 x L22 x D31
