It depicts a hookah smoker inside probably a palace, he poses on a throne. The decor is typical oriental ornamentation on the walls, probably a rug or cashmere on the throne. The canvas is decorative and spectacular, it was executed with great finesse. The gilded frame is sumptuous, it is a 19th century frame which has been gilded with leaf but which is now copper. We report, frictions and micro-scratches, on the whole painting, a small lack of material on the middle at the edge of the black background, nothing serious, the work is hanging as well.
