Superb blown glass vase from the old Moorish Vieil glassworks
the production of “Verriers de Maure-Vieil” focused mainly on glass paste and work on stratified mineral textures, as close as possible to its direct environment.
The intriguing history of glassmaking fully contributes to the charm of the pieces that come from it.
Located on a natural cirque surrounded by wild nature, in the middle of the Caldera (south of France), Maure Vieil is made up of:
• a chapel with modernist and eccentric architecture
• but also a New Age fitness center.
• to which is added the glassware of Maure-vieil.
The Old Maure Glassworks was built in the 1960s.
It closed its doors in the 1990s, leaving a building abandoned since that day.
the Ball Vase is quite rare and in very good condition, no cracks or chips
Produced in the 60s/70s, this piece is predominantly blue, with marbled shades ranging from transparent, to milky white, to more intense blue touches.
Golden metallic inclusions are also present in the glass tab.
Through its texture, the vase tells us the story of its manufacture. The veil of subtle patterns that takes shape before our eyes is the testimony of the molten material worked by master glassmaker Bob Bleis.
On the design side, the ball body is structured with vertical grooves in relief and the neck opens onto a soft and fluid corolla.
The bluish color of this vase stands out from the majority of the work of this glassware which usually evolves into more mineral colors
Craftsmanship, high quality. Superb decorative piece or collection
The Maure Vieil stamp (interlaced M and V) is found sealed under the glassware.
I have a collection of 7 pieces from the Maure Vieille workshops.
These pieces are visible in my other ads
