Nunquam pollutaIzarra, which means the star in Basque, is a liqueur brand created in 1906 in Hendaye, in the Basque Country, by botanist and pharmacist Joseph Grattau. Izarra is a liqueur made from a distillate composed of plants, spices and a double maceration of prunes and walnut husk. The distillate is associated, after passage in a copper still, with Armagnac to obtain a result faithful to the original recipe. Izarra is a symbol of the Basque Country, bought in 1981 by Cointreau SA then sold in 2015 to Spirited Brands Limited, managed by Roland Giscard d'Estaing. 70s bottle from old store stock. Height 28cm
