Old bottle Hunyadi Saxlehner Bitterquelle/blown glass/old bottle. Condition: Used very dark olive, thick glass, dating from 1865/1870. Embossing on the bottom of the bottle - Janos Hunyadi - Bitter Quelle Saxlehner. Origin: The water from the "bitter spring" or Bitter which was exploited in Budapest by Andreas Saxlehner in the 19th century and distributed in Europe and the United States under the brand "Janos Hunyadi", named after the Hungarian general who repelled the Ottomans in 1458. This molded bottle, said to be 24 ounces, or about 70 cl, actually contains only 67 cl. It is cylindrical (7.8 cm in diameter) and has a height of 23.5 cm. Intended to be corked, it has a narrow neck (17 mm inside diameter) reinforced by a thick collar. Magnificent example for a collection Height 23.5 cm
