OIL ON PANEL BY MARCEL LAURENT SCENE OF QUIMPER QUIMPER FRAME DORE 1930 C3000 This Oil on panel was produced by Emmanuel Marcel Laurent. French painter born in 1892 and died in 1948, official painter of the Navy from 1942, he was a specialist in landscapes This oil represents a scene from the life of a quayside, Marcel Laurent being a marine painter mainly in Brittany, we believe that the scene is located on the Odet quays in Quimper with a view of its cathedral. You will notice the men unloading or loading at the quay, women with Breton headdresses seated, and the view of the Cathedral in the background. Everything is sold in its own juice, we made the choice voluntarily to let collectors have a cleaning and restoration done, so we hide no flaws.It is a lightly knife painting, it dates from the 1930s, it has a gilded wood frame that goes perfectly with it his work is original. The colors are good very dynamic, a nice rendering in the sky and in the water. You will notice a marine anchor affixed after the signature, symbol only authorized to painters of La Marine.
