Oil on panel by Charles Picart Le Doux Bathing scene 1940 C3518This very beautifully crafted oil on panel was produced by Charles Picart Ledoux, it is from the 1930s or 1940s. We can see a pond, a diving board, several figures in bathing suit, vegetation. Colors are vibrant, artwork is in overall good condition. Charles Alexandre René Picart Le Doux (1881-1959) was a French painter and engraver. Powerful painter in his landscapes but also sensual in his nudes and deep in his portraits. From 1904, he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne. From 1923, the production of the painter is abundant. He exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries then at the Carpentier and Drouant-David galleries in Paris as well as in San Francisco, New York, Rio de Janeiro, London (Ohana gallery), Berlin and Munich. Represented in many museums (Paris, New York, Moscow, Tokyo). Charles Picart Le Doux has illustrated a large number of works. The oil is served by a superb frame from the 1940s, very molded, very ornate which is perfectly suited to this work. Sold as is, unrestored, to report some small accidents on the frame.
