Obviously, we are not claiming that this is a work by this artist. The canvas does not bear a signature, however the quality is there. The work is very well executed, with great finesse. Note on the back of the work the stamp PH lecluse 58 rue de Clichy Paris. The technique is good, particularly in the face, the hinted smile, the gaze and the clothes. There is also a nuanced marbled background which bears witness to an era. We are here at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th.
