OIL ON CARDBOARD BY JEAN DENIS MALCLES STILL LIFE IMAGIER AND PAPERS A4548 This is an oil painting by Jean-Denis Malclès. The support used is cardboard. It is entitled "L'imagier et papiers", 1944, it is dedicated "to Simone with our friendship". Jean-Denis Malclès is a French painter, poster designer and decorator born on May 15, 1912 in Paris where he died on May 30, 2002. We owe him in particular the creation of the costume of the Jacques Brothers and several cinema or theater posters including that from Beauty and the Beast by Jean Cocteau. It is a work of fine craftsmanship. We see a bottle with a transparency made with a nice technique on a red tablecloth. We are here in a typical work of the 40s. The wooden frame is ceruse and rechampi. This is a vintage frame. The work is natural, unrestored, it has some minimal wear and friction, a line at the top left and a scratch at the top right, nothing major. The same is true for the frame which suffered some damage to the patina. Everything can be considered in more than excellent condition. Thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions:- Frame: Height: 59 cm Thickness: 7.5 cm Width: 81 cm- Painting: Height: 37 cm Width: 60 cm S: ACZFGGG4PAM: QKG-1345974 I remain at your disposal for any questions.
