Born in 1912 in Lorient, he began painting at the age of 30 and became a renowned Breton impressionist painter. He still has a small following in the artistic world today. The dates of his birth and death found on the Web are contradictory. Some say 1912-1980, others 1910-1960. The work represents seaweed gatherers, in the background we can see a Chapel, perhaps that of Saint Cado, figures carrying tools. The work is framed in its original ceruse frame which is perfect for this painting. Note slight friction and wear on the frame. We report for the most picky, rubbing and micro-scratches from use, three black dots and a spot in the center at the top in the sky, minimal deformations visible in the photos.
