OIL ON CANVAS CHRIST AND THE SAMARITAN WOMAN RESUME FRAME WITH PALMETTES A4362.This oil on canvas is from the 18th century, it was executed with great finesse, especially in the rendering of the faces, the feet. It's a reworking of a famous painting by Annibale Carracci. We did not undergo any restoration to the work, it is sold voluntarily in its own juice, natural. The palmette frame is from the early 19th century, it goes perfectly with the work. No signature, but definitely a hand. We report rubbing and cracking all over the paint, white spots and scratches as well as three small gaps in the paint revealing the canvas at the bottom around the edge of the frame. Everything is visible in our photos. The work remains in acceptable condition. Note friction, wear of gilding and gaps on the frame. We did a basic cleaning.
