David Azuz was born in Tel Aviv in 1942 and lived in Paris from 1958. Azuz worked in the studio of Josef Schwartzmann from 1951 to 1955, then studied at the Avni Institute in Telv Aviv until 1958, then at the 'École des Beaux-Arts and La Grand Chaumière in Paris from 1958 to 1963. Azuz's rich, colorful paintings often show bistros and markets across Europe, exploring the loneliness of the individual in a busy place. Note on the back on the canvas the inscription Virel ville, perhaps the identifiable place on the work but we have not found a match. We report friction and wear on the oil with a slight deformation.
