MINERVA MASCOT BY PIERRE DE SOETE 1920 BELGIAN BRONZE SILVER M801 This mascot made by Pierre de Soete is in silvered bronze, it represents Minerva. There is a signature that is difficult to read, a little erased, but that we managed to take a picture of. Pierre de Soete enrolled at the Molenbeek Drawing Academy while learning modeling as an autodidact. He was an apprentice at the Compagnie des Bronzes and met sculptors, notably Julien Dillens, Constantin Meunier and Jef Lambeaux. Working full-time as a sculptor from 1924, he received many commissions, including for war memorials. He excels in subjects such as motherhood, sports and dance. There are several models of Minerva, this one is chic as you wish. This mascot rests on a probably posterior marble but which goes perfectly with this work. We report rubbing and stains, patina wear. Note verdigris and a dent in the corner near the monogram, wear on the signature, however this mascot remains in decent overall condition. We report ginners on home plate. She weighs a weight of 1.35 kilograms. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the objects. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom.
