Maurice de Lambert (1873-1953), French painter, illustrator, and decorator, student of Gustave Moreau and Rochegrosse. Known for his illustrations of Victor Hugo and Maupassant. Initially an illuminator, he diversified his art with sets for shows in Montmartre and portraits of actors, including Sarah Bernhardt. Active in typography, he designs vignettes for Grasset. Lambert regularly exhibits in Paris, Brussels, New York and Madrid. His personal exhibitions strengthen his reputation. Her collaboration with the magazine “Paris sex-appeal” bears witness to her creative exploration. His versatile work remains a significant contribution to 20th century art.
I measured 27x31x4.1cm with the old frame, for a total weight of 1095g.
The work alone measures 14x19 cm
