JAPAN MASK EDO PERIOD THEATER WOOD EYES SULFIDE NAMEPLATE H3870Here is a very beautiful mask from Japan, probably from the Edo period without certainty, 1830-1850. This mask can either be a Noh theater mask or more certainly given its size would it be a nameplate (as currently for our mailboxes). These masks were executed in the effigy of the master of the place. In each city and village of Japan a craftsman was specialized in their creation. This one is particularly expressive. For the state, note friction, wear on the polychromy, lack of stucco in places, a significant lack on one of the ears, scratches. Our many photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the object. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Feel free to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Height: 19.5 cm Width: 16.5 cm Length: 9.2 cm I remain at your disposal for any questions.
