MALICORNE, Sarthe. Émile Tessier (1887 - 1971), master earthenware maker. Like Fourmaintraux in Desvres, he was inspired by vernacular decorations. Here, freely reworked, creation of new characters, wordplay... (Ma Licorne). Large ball vase with flower decoration, by Émile Tessier in Malicorne. Height 17 cm, diameter: 16 cm. Signed, on the reverse by Émile Tessier. Good general condition, chip at the base and enamel chips on the edges, see photos.
