Poetry and finesse characterize this old and rare earthenware compote bowl from the Longwy factory.
Its dimensions are: 22 cm in diameter, 11 cm in height.
Its decoration represents a duck and her ducklings in a medallion surrounded by branches with delicate and colorful flowers. From the end of the 19th century (the hollow date stamp indicates manufacture in July 1888), small accidents should be noted, due to its long journey through time. We can notably see a hair on the pattern (which is easily confused with the branches), two chips at the back of the compotier, one of which is slightly visible on the top...
These small defects do not detract from its charm, amplified with this pretty patina.
The details are in the photos which accompany this description, but do not hesitate to contact me for any further information, I will be happy to advise you.
