Annie Hurel-Proszynska Born in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1924, Annie Proszynska lived in Nice from 1964 to 2008 , date of her death.After a stint at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the artist turned to painting, then engraving. She began with a student of Hayter before training with Jacques Hallez in Lumigny. From the 1950s, she took part in group exhibitions at the Hamon gallery in Le Havre, then presented her paintings at the salond'a autumn. However, it is engraving that is close to her heart. In the 1970s, she turned definitively towards this discipline and affirmed her taste for work on copper and large formats. Personal exhibitions are devoted to her at Michel Kieffer's in Paris and in Nice at Jacques Matarasso, in close collaboration with writers to whom she is closely related, editions for bibliophiles in small prints.In her engravings often inspired by the Mediterranean or Antiquity, often very colorful, she plays with the superimposition of cut shapes and silhouettes. Sketched and flat areas enhanced by powerful ideograms. The photos are an integral part of the description.
