Lithograph by Henri Rivière Aspects of Nature - The Island A5590 This lithograph “Aspects of Nature - The Island” is signed Henri Rivière and bears his stamp in red at the bottom left, the publisher's stamp at the bottom right. The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note in the margin a tear of 4 cm going up to the work (0.4 cm), stains and traces of folding. On the litho, we note a tear (0.4 cm) and small stains in places. The lithograph is very fresh in color, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio engraving and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer, in 1886, of the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
