Lithograph by Henri Rivière Aspects of Nature - Cape Town A5480 This lithograph “Aspects of Nature - Cape Town” is signed Henri Rivière in the lower left corner. The work is authentic and old. Regarding the condition, note in the margin, three small tears at the top (0.5, 0.3 and 1.2 cm), small stains, slight undulations of the paper on the right. On the lithograph, we note small stains in places. The lithograph is very fresh in color, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio engraving and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer, in 1886, of the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
