LITHOGRAPHY SOUS BOIS BY EDMOND VALES 1937 ORVAULT 10 OF 20 A4102 Here is a rare lithograph on Orvault, Orvault enthusiasts in Loire-Atlantique will see it as a rare work, it was produced by Edmond Vallès in 1937 and is numbered 10 out of 20. in Pau in 1918, Edmond Valès attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes and then in Paris. During his demobilization, he discovered the Maghreb, then was sent to the United States where he was a bomber navigator for the American Air Force during the Second World War. It was during this period that he visited the Disney studios and met Walt Disney. It was through the discovery of intaglio and Rembrandt etching that Valès became passionate about this technique. The use of the chisel seemed too restrictive to him. Admiring the mastery of Décris that he met in Paris, he nevertheless prefers the freedom of drypoint or etching, without limiting himself to just one of these techniques, preferring their complementarity. Remained faithful to Meknes who welcomed him, recognized him and integrated him into Franco-Moroccan society, Valès lived there with his wife until 1991. He maintained friendly relations with his classmates, including the cartoonist and musician Néri ou the painter Pontoy whose productions he followed and appreciated the very incisive line. We note a scratch on the bottom of the engraving in the margin, slight friction on the engraving, the work is in good general condition, note traces on the pass and accidents on the frame. It is sold without protective glass, uncleaned. For the state thank you for detailing the photos. Do not hesitate to zoom. The photos are an integral part of the description. Dimensions: Frame Height: 37.7 cm Thickness: 1.3 cm Width: 29.6 cm Litho Height: 24 cm Width: 18 cm I remain at your disposal for any questions.
