Late 19th century showcase in the style of Gabriel Viardot bronze ornamentation Indochina L2807Here is a showcase in the style of Gabriel Viardot (1830-1906) famous Parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of furniture freely interpreted “Chinese-Japanese style” and adapted to European taste in the last third of the 19th century. This showcase is made of an exotic wood. The handle has a bronze dragon decoration, here we find the typical Japanese inspiration of this artist. The showcase has four levels with a red velvet inside. We report small scratches from use and classic wear of time on a piece of furniture dating from the end of the 19th century, some small discolorations. However this showcase remains in a largely presentable state.
